BTS Nana and BTS Asok are a single stop apart, and between them sits one of the densest clusters of hotels in Bangkok. Sukhumvit Road splits the area down the middle: the odd-numbered sois on the north side belong to Watthana district, the even-numbered sois on the south side to Khlong Toei.

On the Nana side, Soi 3, Soi 5, Soi 7 and Soi 11 are packed with hotels, guesthouses and restaurants that stay open late, while Soi 2 to Soi 8 run south in tighter lanes of small hotels and serviced apartments. At Asok, the BTS meets MRT Sukhumvit above and below the big crossroads. Asok Montri Road, which is Soi 21, heads north towards MRT Phetchaburi. South of the junction, Soi 10 to Soi 16 lead towards Ratchadaphisek Road and the lakes and raised boardwalks of Benjakitti Park, with Soi 19 and Soi 23 filling in the north side.

Asok is also an office district. The towers around the junction and along Ratchadaphisek fill with meetings all week, and the hotels nearby fill with the people attending them.
